If your business has started to feel cluttered, overwhelming or harder to navigate than it should, it might be time for a bit of a spring clean.

In this post, I’m sharing 24 simple but powerful ways to help you declutter your business and simplify the way you operate so that everything feels lighter and more manageable again. Let’s dive in.

When business starts to feel cluttered

It’s easy for things to build up in your business… A new offer here. A tool you tried there. Folders you’ll come back to later. Systems that don’t support you anymore. Content you wrote ages ago that you forgot exists.

Individually, none of it feels like a problem. But collectively, it starts to create noise. And before you know it, that light, simple, intentional business you wanted starts to feel cluttered, messy and all over the place.

When that happens, it’s usually a sign it’s time to pause and look at what’s been building up in the background.

Because when you tidy up and remove what no longer fits, you create more time, energy and mental space to focus on what actually moves your business forward.

Which is exactly why one of the exercises I often do with clients is a business declutter – not as a seasonal tidy-up, but as a way to reset clarity, focus and direction.

Why a business reset matters more than you think

This isn’t about tidying-up for the sake of it. When you intentionally clear space in your business, you’ll notice that a few things start to shift pretty quickly:

Which is exactly why I come back to this work so often with my clients.

So, with that in mind, here are 24 simple ways to spring clean your business.

24 ways to spring clean your business

Now before we dive in, I want you to know that you don’t need to do them all. In fact, you shouldn’t. Not all at once anyway. Think of this as a menu, not a checklist. Scroll through and pick the areas that feel most relevant right now and start there.

1: Review your offers and services

Your offers should feel as good to deliver as they are to sell. Take a step back and look at what you’re currently offering. Are your products and services still aligned with the direction of your business? Do they energise you, or are you holding onto them out of habit?

This is your opportunity to refine, simplify, or remove anything that no longer fits – and to make space for offers that feel more aligned and impactful.

2: Review your procedures and workflows

Behind-the-scenes structure is what allows your business to run with more ease and less mental load. If your processes live in your head or feel inconsistent, things will always feel harder than they need to.

Document what you do regularly, simplify where possible and look for anything that could be streamlined, delegated or systemised to support how you actually want to work now.

3: Review your subscriptions

It’s amazing how many tools, subscriptions and memberships you can accumulate over time – many of which stop being used long before they’re cancelled.

Go through everything you’re currently paying for and assess it honestly. Is it actively supporting your business right now, or is it just sitting in the background? Cancel anything that’s no longer earning its place and costing you money unnecessarily.

4. Re-evaluate your goals

Your goals should evolve with your business, not stay fixed out of obligation. Review what you set at the start of the year and ask whether they still reflect where you are now.

Are they still relevant, or are you pushing toward something that no longer feels aligned? Let go of anything that no longer fits so that you can focus your energy on what actually matters now.

5. Review your branding and messaging

Your messaging should reflect the business you’re running right now, not the version you started with. Look at your core messaging, elevator pitch and positioning. Do they clearly communicate who you help, what you do and the transformation you create?

If not, update your messaging to eliminate the disconnect so that not only can the right people find you, but when they do, they instantly know you’re the person who can help them.

6: Refresh your website

Your website is often the first impression people have of your business, so it’s important that it reflects where you are now, not where you were months (or years!) ago.

Start with your Home and About pages. Check whether they still accurately reflect your offers, messaging, and focus. Then, set aside time every 3-6 months to check and update your site where necessary. This will help you maintain consistency and alignment across your online presence.

7: Website housekeeping

Your website should be working as a clear, accurate reflection of your business right now, not a forgotten corner of outdated links and information.

Review what’s sitting behind the scenes. Check your pages, posts, metadata and internal and external links to ensure everything is working as it should. Update your plugins, remove any you no longer use and simplify wherever things feel cluttered or unnecessarily complex.

Then step back and look at your navigation. Does it still guide people clearly through your offers and messaging? If not, streamline it so your website supports the experience you want your ideal client to have.

8: Refresh your social bios

Your social media is often the first touchpoint someone has with your business, so your bios should be current, consistent and clear.

Review your profile images and bios across all of your social platforms. Do they reflect what you do, who you help and how you support them right now?

Consistency across platforms helps create instant recognition and strengthens your overall brand clarity. If your positioning has shifted, this is one of the quickest and most effective updates you can make.

9: Update your Facebook banners

Your Facebook banner is valuable space and when it’s used well, it’s a subtle but consistent way to direct attention, foster engagement and grow your business.

Think of it as a simple, visual extension of your messaging. Rather than having a placeholder or a personal image, use it to communicate what your business does and who it’s for.

Whether it’s showcasing your latest offer, showcasing your freebie or inviting people to join your community, how can you turn your Facebook banner into something that’s going to serve you?

10: Refresh your Instagram feed

Your Instagram feed should feel aligned with your current message and direction, not locked into old templates or outdated themes.

Take a step back and review what your content is communicating as a whole. Does it still reflect your business clearly?

If not, you don’t need to archive everything and start again. Sometimes, a subtle update in visuals or structure is enough to bring things back into alignment and make your content feel current again.

11: Unsubscribe and unfollow

Every email you don’t open and every account you no longer engage with adds unnecessary noise to your digital space.

Start by clearing your inbox. Unsubscribe from anything you no longer read or find useful. If tackling it all at once feels overwhelming, do it gradually as new emails arrive. Then do the same across your social feeds.

Unfollow accounts that no longer feel relevant or supportive of where you’re headed, including anything that creates comparison or distraction.

12: Refresh your Facebook groups

How many Facebook groups are you in that are no longer align with where you’re at? Go through the groups you’re a member of and leave any that no longer feel aligned or that you don’t regularly engage in.

Then do the same with you friends list. Your feed should support your focus, not constantly pull your attention in directions that no longer serve you or your business.

13: Declutter those saves

How many posts have you saved that you never come back to? Go through your saved posts across all of your platforms and if you haven’t revisited it or used it yet, it’s highly likely it’s not as valuable as you thought it was at the time.

Keep what’s genuinely useful or relevant and what you intend to action and remove the rest.

14: Update your welcome sequence

Your welcome sequence sets the tone for every new subscriber who enters your world, so make sure it reflect your business as it is now, not how it looked when you first wrote it.

Review each email in the sequence. Does it align with your current messaging, offers and direction? Are the links working and leading where you want them to? Remove anything that no longer fits and refine what remains so that it creates a clear, consistent experience from the very first interaction.

15: Review your thank-you pages

Your subscribers are at their hottest right after they’ve signed up to your email list. Which means your thank-you page is a key moment in your customer journey, so make sure you’re making the most of it.

After someone signs up, where are you directing them next? Is that page still relevant, intentional and aligned with your current offers?

Make sure you’re using this space well. Whether it’s guiding them to your next step, an offer, or your content, your thank-you page is prime real estate for gaining momentum whilst attention is high – so use it to your advantage!

16: Clean up your email list

This one isn’t about reducing numbers, it’s about improving connection, deliverability and the overall quality of your audience. Because an engaged email list will always serve your business better than a large, inactive one.

Review your subscribers and identify those who haven’t engaged in the last 3-6 months and either send a series of 3-5 emails to re-engage them or remove them right away.

Worried about deleting them? Know that if they really want to be in your world, they’ll track you down and re-subscribe. And that’s okay.

17: Clean up your inbox

An overflowing inbox creates unnecessary mental load and it makes it harder to focus on what really matters.

How many emails do you have in your inbox right now? Set aside time to clear it out. Move anything actionable into a dedicated folder and delete the rest. Then when new ones come in that you’re not interested in, unsubscribe.

Worried about deleting emails? Create a temporary folder and move them there. Then in 3 months’ time, delete any you didn’t need.

18: Declutter your to-do list

A long to-do list isn’t a sign of productivity, it’s a sign of unclear priorities. If you find yourself spending more time adding to your to-do list instead of ticking things off, it’s time to declutter it.

Start with a full mind dump, then step back and decide what actually matters. What needs to be done, what can be delegated and what can be removed entirely?

Make sure that your focus is on the tasks that are going to move your business forward rather than the tasks that ‘could’ be done.

19: Clean out your notebooks

Ideas lose their value when they’re scattered across multiple places and never revisited. Your goal isn’t to keep everything, it’s to create a single, clear place for what deserves your attention and what’s useful.

Go through your notebooks, notes apps and any place you’ve captured thoughts or plans. Pull out what still matters, identify anything worth actioning and let the rest go.

20: What courses are you taking?

It’s easy to collect courses with the intention of coming back to them later, but let’s be honest, most never get revisited.

Go through all of the courses and programs you’ve signed up for and decide what’s still relevant. If you’re unlikely to complete it or use it, let it go. If it still feels valuable, choose when and how you’ll actually engage with it – and make sure you do!

21: Sort your digital files

Disorganised files are a huge time waster and slow you down more than you realise.

Set aside time to organise your folders so you can find what you need quickly and easily. Remove anything you no longer use and archive anything you want to keep but don’t need immediate access to.

Don’t forget to declutter your desktop too. You’ll be surprised how many shortcuts you have that you no longer use.

22: Delete unused bookmarks

Bookmarks are meant to make things easier, but when there are too many, they do the opposite. The goal here is quick access to what’s useful, not a long list of things you’ll never revisit.

Review what you’ve saved and remove anything you no longer use or need. Then organise what remains into clear, simple categories.

23: Declutter your workspace

Your physical environment has a direct impact on how you think, focus and work.

Whether it’s the kitchen table or you have a dedicated workspace, clear it of anything you don’t need. Remove the distractions, organise what remains and create a space that supports the way you want to show up in your business.

It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to feel calm, functional and like a space you want to work in.

24: Yourself!

Your business can only operate as well as you do. Take a step back and look at your habits, working patterns and expectations. Are you overloading your schedule? Are you working in ways that aren’t sustainable? Are you ignoring what you need in order to keep going?

This isn’t about doing more, it’s about supporting yourself better so you can show up with clarity, consistency and energy long term.

You are your business’s greatest asset and it’s greatest superpower. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself so that you can show up – both for you and your business.

Letting simplicity lead the way

Here’s the thing to remember as you work through this… you’re not just ‘tidying up’ your business, you’re clearing out what’s no longer serving you, what’s weighing you down and what’s started to feel cluttered, scattered or unnecessarily complex, so you can create more space to think clearly and operate with ease.

So don’t overcomplicate this. Choose a few areas, start small and let simplicity do its job.

Because a lighter, clearer business doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from removing what’s getting in the way of focus, energy and your ability to create real, sustainable momentum.
